This is a place to catch some opines on a pretty weird combination of topics. You’re likely to see posts ranging from IT/Information Risk Management to iOS to Node.js to Arduino & XBee + everything in-between. Oh, and quite a bit of R, Python & “data science-y” things.
I’ve been immersed in technology for well over two decades and have done everything from coding printer drivers to building data acquisition systems for large R&D labs to hacking QuarkXPress to architecting Internet infrastructure for Fortune 100 companies to Infosec & Risk Management and Security Data
Lately, I’ve been somewhat obsessed with all things related to data analysis & visualization, so much so that I & @jayjacobs wrote a book book back in February 2014 on how to get started in data science in information security.
I’m V.P. Data Science @ GreyNoise Intelligence, formerly Chief Data Scientist @ Rapid7, and used to lead the team that makes the annual (spiffy) Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report.
Feedback & dialogue is heartily encouraged both on the blog and on Twitter where I hang out quite a bit (@hrbrmstr). Don’t hesitate to submit issues over at github, too.
